Rosquillas de Masizena
(Corn Starch Cookies)

Makes about 3 dozen

2 cups flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 egg
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar plus  extra for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Combine all ingredients, mix to form a smooth dough.  Roll into long strips 1/4 inch thick.  Cut with knife into 2 inch lengths, and form a ring with each piece.  Place the rings on an ungreased cookie sheet and sprinkle with sugar.  Bake at 325 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes.  If desired, spinkle with cinnamon.
