White Sangria - Barbara Fenzl


  3-1/2 cups chilled dry white wine
1/2 cup Cointreau, Triple Sec or Grand Marnier
1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup sugar
1-1/4 cups chilled sparkling water
1 lemon, thinly sliced
2 limes, thinly sliced
1/2 cup seedless green grapes (optional)

In a clear glass pitcher, stir together the wine, liqueur, brandy and sugar.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.  Just before serving, stir in the sparkling water and fruit, if desired.  Fill tall glasses with ice and pour the sangria over the ice, or served  well chilled in cocktail glasses without ice.
